We are seeking design interns for the summer of 2013!

About us

Outpost is a boutique design studio located in Eagle Rock, on the east side of Los Angeles. We work with a select group of local clients on a variety of web, print and strategic design projects. Our projects range from large-scale ecommerce websites and full identity systems, to small print projects like posters, business cards and packaging.

Job Description

Our summer interns will be involved in every aspect of our studio from business development to delivery of files for print or web development. The position is a unique opportunity to learn how a small design studio functions day-to-day, and to gain hands-on experience developing creative solutions for our clients.

Requirements

We’re looking for currently enrolled or recent graduates from four-year undergraduate or two-year graduate graphic design programs. Applicants should have strong typography and graphic form-making skills, as well as a proficiency with Adobe programs, particularly Photoshop. Experience building pixel-perfect website mockups in Photoshop is a plus. Interns will work on their own computers.

Compensation

This internship is paid.

Time Commitment

This is a full-time position. Start and end dates are flexible.

Since the drunken success of “The Situation Room” 2012 electoral night coverage, Keith Scharwath and Brian Rea returned with coverage of the “big game” (Legal has asked us to avoid using the term “Super Bowl”).

They created an installation at “The Super American Sport Score Zone Room” (the studio here in Los Angeles) commenting on scores, half time acts, snacks, team logos, commercials and anything else related to coverage of the big game.

One year in Eagle Rock today.

To create this picture, Bucklow photographed the sun using a multiple pinhole camera constructed from a cardboard box. The apertures, punched out in a pattern, allowed him to make numerous, often thousands, of images simultaneously. Together, like atoms, these tiny images of the sun join to form a larger body—in this case, a luminous human figure, which happens to be the artist himself.
